FH6 Best PC Settings — Graphics & Performance Guide

FH6 uses an updated ForzaTech engine with a proven track record on mid- and low-tier hardware. The game is well optimised at launch — the minimum spec card is an Nvidia GTX 1650 (three GPU generations old), meaning most PCs can run it. This guide covers the settings that matter most for performance, what to lower first, and how to set up upscaling correctly.

Use the built-in benchmark first
FH6 includes a real-time VRAM and RAM usage counter, plus a built-in benchmark tool in graphics settings. Run it before manually tweaking anything — the game will suggest a preset based on your hardware. Use that as your starting point.

Upscaling — most important setting

Choosing the right upscaling technology is the single most impactful settings decision. FH6 supports DLSS 4.5 (Nvidia), FSR 3.1 (all GPUs, upgradeable to FSR 4.1 via AMD driver override), and XeSS 2.0 (Intel).

  • Nvidia GPU → DLSS Quality (or DLAA at native for best image quality). DLSS Quality gives ~37% FPS boost over TAA while remaining near-identical visually. Avoid Frame Generation unless your base FPS stays above 60.
  • AMD GPU → FSR Quality. The best general option for non-Nvidia cards. FSR 4.1 via driver override improves image quality further if you have a recent AMD card.
  • Intel GPU → XeSS 2.0. Good performance on Arc cards with minimal quality loss.
  • Upscaling mode by resolution: Quality for 1080p, Balanced for 1440p, Performance for 4K.

Settings that hurt FPS the most

SettingRecommendationFPS impactNotes
Ray Traced ReflectionsMedium or OFFHigh −15–25%High visual cost for limited benefit. Medium setting on RT Reflections causes visual noise artifacts on white/light vehicles — keep at Low or Off unless you have a high-end GPU
Ray Traced GI (Global Illumination)MediumHighRT GI improves the image more noticeably than RT Reflections. Worth keeping at Medium on mid-range cards
Shadow QualityHighHighOne of the biggest FPS drains. High looks nearly identical to Ultra but costs significantly less GPU
Volumetric FogMediumHighVery expensive at Ultra/Extreme. Medium provides a good balance on most hardware
Environment Texture QualityHighMediumDrop to High if you have 8–12 GB VRAM to avoid the memory leak issue at Ultra
Car Level of DetailUltraLowThis is a racing game — you're looking at cars constantly. Don't lower this. Keep it Ultra on anything mid-range or above
Motion BlurOFFLowTurn off both standard Motion Blur and UI Motion Blur. Can cause nausea and obscures visual information in fast corners. Turn off in both Video and Visual Accessibility menus
V-SyncOFFMediumTurn off for unconstrained frame rate. Use your monitor's G-Sync or FreeSync instead
Deformable TerrainExtreme (desktop) / Medium (handheld)Low on desktopMinimal impact on standard desktops. Significantly affects handheld APU performance — drop to Medium on Steam Deck equivalent hardware
Particle EffectsHighLowTire smoke and gravel spray. High is the sweet spot — cinematic without a frame cost
VRAM target
FH6 uses nearly 8 GB of VRAM at 1440p even at the lowest texture settings. Keep your GPU VRAM usage below 80% for stable performance. If you have 8 GB VRAM, set Environment Texture to High (not Ultra) to avoid the memory leak issue that causes stuttering over long sessions.

Recommended settings by hardware tier

  • High-end (RTX 4080+, RX 7900 XT+) — Extreme preset, DLAA or DLSS Quality, RT GI Medium, RT Reflections Low. Target: 4K/60 or 1440p/120+
  • Mid-range (RTX 3070/4060, RX 6700 XT) — High preset, DLSS/FSR Quality, Shadow High, Volumetric Fog Medium, RT off. Target: 1440p/60+
  • Budget (GTX 1650, RX 5500 XT) — Medium preset, FSR Balanced, Shadow Medium, RT fully off, Environment Texture Medium. Target: 1080p/30–60
