Fast travel when all 50 smashed

XP Boards are glowing collectible signs scattered across Japan's open world. Drive through any board to instantly smash it and collect the reward. There are 200 XP Boards divided into three tiers by value, plus a separate set of 50 Fast Travel Boards that reduce your fast travel costs.

Boards don't appear on your map automatically
Unlike Barn Finds, boards are not marked until you get close. The best strategy is to sweep one region at a time rather than chasing scattered icons. Use the map filter to hide race events and focus on collectible icons once you're board-hunting.

XP Board types

Green XP Boards
100 total
1,000 XP
+10 Wristband points each
Most common. Found near roads, towns, gas stations, parking areas, and small landmarks. Most are destroyed naturally while driving between events.
Blue XP Boards
75 total
3,000 XP
+30 Wristband points each
Less common. Hidden slightly off main roads, behind buildings, in desolate areas, or requiring a small jump to reach. Worth actively seeking.
Gold XP Boards
25 total
5,000 XP
+50 Wristband points each
Rarest and hardest to reach. Many require significant jumps, roof access, or specific off-road approaches. Some are on building rooftops or cliff edges.

Fast Travel Boards — separate system

50 Fast Travel Boards
Each reduces fast travel cost by 200 CR · All 50 = completely free fast travel
50
BOARDS TOTAL

Fast Travel Boards appear as purple signs with the Horizon Festival lightning bolt logo — different from XP Boards. Base fast travel cost is 10,000 CR for long distances. Each board you smash permanently reduces this by 200 CR (2%). Smash all 50 to make fast travel completely free.

Unlike previous Forza Horizon games where fast travel required buying a specific house first, fast travel in FH6 is available from the start — you just pay credits until you collect the boards. You can fast travel to any road you've already driven.

Fast Travel Board milestones:
  • 10 boards = 8,000 CR per jump
  • 25 boards = 5,000 CR per jump (half price)
  • 50 boards = 0 CR — completely free, permanently
Don't confuse the two board types
XP Boards are green/blue/gold glowing signs — they give XP and Wristband points. Fast Travel Boards are purple with a lightning bolt logo — they reduce travel costs. The icons look similar on the minimap so check carefully before deciding which to prioritize.

Efficient collection strategy

Trying to hunt all 200 boards in a random order wastes significant time. The fastest players use this approach:

  • Sweep one region at a time. Pick a region on the map, drive every road in it, and smash every board you encounter before moving on. This avoids backtracking.
  • Use ANNA Drone Mode for Gold boards. Many 5,000 XP boards are on rooftops or in unusual positions. Flying the drone around an area is faster than trying to find the right approach angle in your car.
  • Enable collectible map filter. In the map settings, turn off race event icons and leave only collectible icons visible. Boards you haven't found will show as grey dots once you get close enough.
  • Use the Rewind feature for missed jumps. Gold boards requiring speed ramps often need precise angles. Enable Rewind and use it to retry difficult jump angles without driving all the way back.
  • Prioritize Fast Travel Boards first. Collecting all 50 Fast Travel Boards early saves credits on every subsequent trip, which pays off over the entire game.
Best region order for boards
Start in Tokyo City (high board density, easy terrain). Then sweep Minamino and Nangan before moving to the mountain regions. Save Shimanoyama and Sotoyama for last — those Gold boards require the most prep and the best approach angles.
